Japan to lift limits on American apples

Japan has agreed to lift its restrictions on the import of U.S. apples in a move that could finally resolve a trade dispute that has stretched over 20 years, administration officials said Wednesday.

U.S. growers have estimated that if the restrictions were lifted they could eventually sell more than $143 million worth of apples in Japan annually.
