NZ apple returns concern growers

New Zealand apple growers are concerned at forecast low returns for their apple exports following ordinary markets, particularly in Europe, during this year.

While NZ invested heavily over a decade ago and led the world to move from traditional apple varieties to new varieties such as Royal Gala and Braeburn, international supply and price competition continues to erode export margins.
