Farmers see benefits of SIR to battle moths

Local proponents of the Okanagan Kootenay Sterile Insect Release program say the benefits of the program outweigh its increasing costs. "Ultimately it has a lot to do with the performance of the program in growers' minds," said Joe Sardinha, a Summerland apple grower and president of the B.C. Fruit Growers Association.
