Description: Lamb Abbey Orchards is a 13 acre fruit orchard in Union, Maine, 20 miles from ocean, looking out to the hills of Palermo, Maine. Our orchard is in its infancy. When mature, it will be comprised of 170 uncommon varieties of fruit--90 apples (34 exclusively for our own ciders, cider products, apple butters, jellies and dried apples) plus a collection of 80 pears, plums, peaches, apricots and cherries able to withstand a blustery Zone 5 coastal Maine winter. Most of our trees are on semidwarf rootstock and are a couple years away from producing their first fruit. Nearly 20 varieties are still in USDA Quarantine, soon to be grafted, as we imported them from collections in the UK, Pakistan and the Czech Republic. Many are in the US for the very first time. Please give us a call or send us an e-mail if you have any questions. We are not yet open to the public.
