Coe's Golden Drop
(Also known as: Bishop's Thumb, Golden Drop)
Parentage / Origin: England, 1842
Harvest / Season: Harvest: August - September
Description: Small yellow fruit flushed crimson. Brisk, vinous and sugary flavor, juicy yellow flesh.
Tree Characteristics: Scab resistant. Heavy cropper.

Cole's Quince
(Also known as: Quince, Pear Apple)
Parentage / Origin: Maine, 1806. Introduced in 1849
Harvest / Season: Harvest: late August - late September
Description: Cooking apple in July, eating apple when ripe. Large, ribbed yellow fruit with a firm red juicy flesh. Mild, rich quince flavor and aroma. Very rare.

Connell Red
Parentage / Origin: Bud mutation of Fireside
Harvest / Season: Harvest: September - October; Season: October - April
Description: Very productive, very hardy, large dark red high quality eating apple. Connell Red is a gorgeous Fireside type. A good late keeping apple for northern areas.

Cornish Gilliflower
Parentage / Origin: Cornwall, circa 1800.
Harvest / Season: Harvest: mid-late October, Season: November - January
Description: Dull green with some dull brownish red and webbed with thin rough russet. Only in a rare year do a few develop clear dark red. Medium to large in size, round, conical shape, tapering at the nose to a 5-pointed base. It has always been considered a hight quality eating apple, possessing a sweet, rich flavor. Intensely flavored, rich and aromatic. Said to emit a clove fragrance when cut. Should be picked as late as possible.
Tree Characteristics: Tree is moderately vigorous, very spreading and a tip bearer. Mauve buds with a particularly attractive blossom.

Cortland
Parentage / Origin: McIntosh x Ben Davis; Geneva, New York 1915

Description: Very white crisp flesh. One of the best salad apples because it doesn't brown quickly.
Tree Characteristics:

Court Pendu Plat
Parentage / Origin: Europe 1613 (probably Roman)
Harvest / Season:
Description: Name derived from Corps Pendu, referring to the shortness of the stem. Skin is greenish-yellow becoming flushed with orange-red with short broken stripes. Rich, aromatic fruit with a good balance of sugar and acid.
Tree Characteristics: A good cropper. Suitable for areas with late spring frost because it blooms very late and is cold hardy.

Parentage / Origin: Ribston Pippin seedling; c. 1829 England
Harvest / Season: Harvest: mid September - mid October, Season: November - December
Description: Well known, classic, very fine eating apple. Also excellent for all-around processing. Flavor enhanced by ripening off the tree. Fruit medium sized, pale green with red stripes, flushed orange. Firm, tender, juicy flesh. Distinctive aroma and flavor.
Tree Characteristics: Susceptible to scab and canker.

Crawley Beauty
Parentage / Origin: Sussex, England, 1900.
Harvest / Season: Harvest: October, Season: November - February
Description: Good commercial cooking apple. Fruit large, dark green with red flush, broken stripes. Flesh firm with acidic flavor, good when cooked.
Tree Characteristics: Tree growth vigorous, compact and upright, good for small garden. Disease resistant. Bears consistently and heavily, adaptable.

Crimson Crisp

Parentage / Origin: PRI (Purdue, Rutgers, Illinois Co Op)
Harvest / Season: Harvest: Early to mid- September
Description: Small to medium. Very bright mid-range red over yellow. Extremely crisp. Very good, rich flavor. Moderately acid, spicy.
Tree Characteristics: Moderately vigorous. Upright growth habit with more than average branching. Immune to scab, moderately resistant to leaf rust, moderately susceptible to mildew, susceptible to fireblight.

 
Crispin

Parentage / Origin: McIntosh x Ben Davis; Developed by New York Agricultural Experiment Station, 1898.
Harvest / Season: Harvest: Mid September to early October; Season: October - December
Description: Larger fruit with dark red skin underlaid with stripes. Crisp pure white flesh resists browning when cut. Tart tangy flavor. Dessert quality. Excellent for eating out of hand, cooking, and cider.
Tree Characteristics: Vigorous long lived tree is annually productive and starts bearing early. Excellent pollinator.

Description: Red Delicious shape, Yellow Delicious character. Yellowish green skin with a beautiful distinctive reddish pink blush. Mildly sweet flesh. Good for fresh eating, cooking, freezing, drying.
Tree Characteristics: Excellent keeper. Heavy producer and very hardy.
