D'Arcy Spice

Description: Great flavored apple. Yellowish-green skin, flushed with russet patches surrounds fine, firm crisp flesh with rich, vinous flavor.

Description: English cider apple. High quality juice.
Tree Characteristics: Tree of low vigor, does well with high fertility levels. Shade tolerant. Bears young and is a regular good producer.

Dandee Red, PPAF

Description: Bright red. McIntosh flavor. Keeps 3 months (very long for its season).

Parentage / Origin: Seedling of McIntosh; Discovered in 1928 & introduced in 1950

Description: Highly colored, bright red, distinctly flavored, of Baldwin texture and keeping qualities. Good, brisk taste, hint of strawberry flavor, crisp and juicy.
Tree Characteristics: Resistant to scab.

Parentage / Origin: PRI 123249 x PRI 1235-100; PRI (Purdue Rutgers Illinois Co Op), 1988
Harvest / Season: Harvest: late August; Season: August - October
Description: Fruit is medium-large, full red and sweet.
Tree Characteristics: Tree is vigorous and very annual in production. It appears to possess good resistance to all major apple diseases.

Delblush, protected in France
(Also known as: Tentation' in France. Authority to grow this variety under any name is restricted and part of a cons)
Parentage / Origin: Golden Delicious x Blushing Golden (Griffith cv.); France, 1979, introduced by Delbard Nursery
Harvest / Season: Harvest: October
Description: Medium. Oblong, conical shape. Golden yellow with orange blush. Lenticels prominent. Crisp, firm, and juicy. Sweet, sub-acid, intensely aromatic to some. Keeps well.
Tree Characteristics: Resembles standard Golden Delicious growth habit. Plenty of fruiting spurs. Very susceptible to scab and powdery mildew.

Delcon
Parentage / Origin: Cross of Delicious, Jonathan and Ben Davis
Harvest / Season: Harvest: late September to October
Description: Full sized, dark red fruits shaped like a Delicious. Sweet, crisp, juicy, white flesh. Good fresh and for pies. Keeps into the winter.
Tree Characteristics: Tree is a natural semi-dwarf. Rarely needs pruning. Bred for its resistance to fireblight. Bears enormous yields.

Description: Classic deep red apple. Soft, snow white flesh. Curious ridges about the calyx.
Tree Characteristics: Bears young and annually. Some disease resistance. Tree is heavily spurred.

Devonshire Quarrenden
(Also known as: Sack Apple)
Parentage / Origin: Old English or French variety, written up in 1685.
Harvest / Season: Harvest: August/September
Description: Medium size fruit is attractive and shiny crimson. Flesh is crisp, juicy and sweet, with a distinctive flavor.
Tree Characteristics: Requires a pollinator because its blossoms are sterile. Triploid

Discovery
Parentage / Origin: Possibly Worcester Pearmain x Beauty of Bath; Essex England, 1949
Harvest / Season: Harvest: mid August, Season: mid August - mid Sep
Description: An early eating apple with a long shelf life for its type, also makes a good sauce. Pale greenish yellow with brilliant crimson-red flush and conspicuous lenticels. Crisp white flesh, tinged pink, excellent flavor with a hint of strawberry. Very good flavor for an early variety. Fruit tends to crack.
Tree Characteristics: Hardy compact tree is a natural semi-dwarf. It is a spur and tip bearer. It is rather slow to come into bearing. Some resistance to scab.

Parentage / Origin: Russia, 1700, introduced into England c. 1815
Harvest / Season: Harvest: August; Season: September
Description: Good cooking apple, fair eating apple. Beautiful, medium to large sized greenish yellow with bright red stripes, splashes and russeted dots. Flesh fine, firm and juicy. flavor tart, brisk and refreshing, first class. Keeps for only a few weeks.
Tree Characteristics: Tree is very hardy and vigorous, early and abundant bearer. Disease resistant.

Description: Deep red apple with a faint stripe and pronounced lenticels. Flesh is white, crisp and enhanced with a mild, sweet flavor that is very aromatic.
Tree Characteristics:
