Description: Tall cylindrical apple. Creamy, yellow porcelain-like skin with red blush. Crisp, juicy, fine-textured flesh, excellent flavor.
Tree Characteristics: Tree tends toward small, pyramidal shape. Heavy, regular bearer.

Description: Intensely flavored, rich, aromatic, masses of sugar and acidity, crisp, juicy flesh. One of the strongest flavored apples.
Tree Characteristics: Susceptible to apple scab and grows best in cooler summer areas. Triploid

Parentage / Origin: James Grieve x Worcester Pearmain; Sweden, 1966
Harvest / Season: Harvest: September, Season: 2-3 weeks after harvest
Description: Medium sized fruit, nearly solid red with tough, thick skin. Juicy flesh. Good flavor.
Tree Characteristics: Tree is a hardy, productive bearer, mildew and scab resistant

Keepsake
Parentage / Origin: Malinda x Northern Spy; Introduced in 1979
Harvest / Season: Harvest: October - November; Season: October - April
Description: Unattractive, irregularly shaped, 2.25 to 2.75 inch diameter, 90% red fruit. Fine grained, hard, very crisp, juicy light yellow flesh. Strongly aromatic flavor. Very hardy. Mellows with age. Attains peak fresh eating quality in January or February. Keeps in storage through April.
Tree Characteristics: Moderately vigorous spreading tree. Resistant to fire blight and cedar apple rust.

Kent

Parentage / Origin: Cox's Orange Pippin x Jonathon; East Malling, England, 1960s.
Harvest / Season: Harvest: mid-October, Season: November-Feb
Description: Greenish-yellow fruit that is flushed and striped red. Crisp, white flesh that is juicy with a sweet-sharp and aromatic flavor.
Tree Characteristics: Tree bears young and is a good cropper. Prone to coarse russet.

Description: Small shiny yellow fruit, sometimes striped red. Crisp, crunchy, hard flesh.

Parentage / Origin: England, First recorded 1793
Harvest / Season: Harvest: August - September, Season: September - Oct
Description: Large, green-yellow fruit, sometimes with a faint blush. Fine, tart flavor.
Tree Characteristics: Heavy cropper.

Kidd's Orange Red
Parentage / Origin: Cox's Orange Pippin x Red Delicious; New Zealand, 1924
Harvest / Season: Harvest: early October; Season: October - January
Description: Medium size, conic, slightly ribbed. Pale greenish-yellow fruit well covered by crimson flush and broken stripes of purple-crimson. Patches of russet. Sweet, aromatic flavor and firm, fine-textured flesh.
Tree Characteristics: Fruit can be small if not well thinned.

King Cole
Parentage / Origin: Believed to Jonathan x Dutch Mignonne; Australia, 1912
Harvest / Season: Harvest: mid October
Description: Bright red Jonathan flush, smooth skinned dessert variety. Good brisk tasting fruit, keeps until January.
Tree Characteristics: Tree moderately vigorous

King David
Parentage / Origin: Arkansas, 1893
Harvest / Season: Harvest: late October to early November; Season: October - December
Description: Medium size, pale green fruit overlaid with deep dark red. Firm, crisp, spicy, juicy yellow flesh. Very rich and flavorful. Resembles Winesap in appearance and taste. Fruits never seem to drop and increase in brilliance of color as the season goes on. For best eating, should be picked when the red color becomes complete.
Tree Characteristics: Large tree. Good storage ability. Bears very early. Resistant to fire blight.

King of the Pippins
(Also known as: Golden Winter Pearmain)
Parentage / Origin: Possibly Sturmer Pippin x Ribston Pippin.; England, early 1800s
Harvest / Season: Harvest: mid-October, Season: October - December
Description: One of the best late eating apples. Greenish-yellow to yellow fruit flushed with brown-orange and stripes of red, some russet patches. Firm, dry highly aromatic flesh with distinctive sweet-bitter flavor and almond undertones.

Description: Large, smooth skinned yellow apple with orange red blush. Flesh yellowish, coarse, crisp, tender, flavor subacid.

Description: Large blushed yellow apple that is sweet and firm. Some calyx russetting can occur in warmer districts. Storage is rated excellent.

Parentage / Origin: Sussex, England, 1819
Harvest / Season: Harvest: mid-late October, Season: October - February/March
Description: Green and yellow fruit, sometimes scarlet streaked in the sun. Uneven surface is overlaid with rough gray and black russet, welts and knobs; worthy of its name. Crisp, rich, sugary, highly flavored flesh of the highest quality.
