Tree Characteristics: Like Bolero and Waltz, a nearly branchless tree intended for use in very close spacings, such as potted in a veranda setting.

Pomme Gris
(Also known as: Leathercoat, French Russet)
Parentage / Origin: France, c. 1803.
Harvest / Season: Harvest: September, Season: September-January
Description: Cider and eating apple. Like other russets, its high flavor has a tart sweetness and pear-like richness.
Tree Characteristics: Tree is a heavy cropper.

Porter
(Also known as: Jennings, Yellow Summer Pearmain)
Parentage / Origin: Massachusetts, 1840
Harvest / Season: Harvest: September, Season: September - October
Description: Very good eating, canning and cooking apple. Pure yellow skin with crimson blush, tender, sweet and juicy flesh. Retains its form with cooking.

Porter's Perfection
Parentage / Origin: England

Description: English cider apple. Cream coloured, flushed dark red. Bitter-sharp cider blending quality.
Tree Characteristics: Tree vigorous, heavy cropper, tends to biennial bearing.

Prairie Spy
Parentage / Origin: University of Minnesota, 1940
Harvest / Season: Harvest: October, Season: November - March
Description: All purpose. Red over yellow, attractive large fruit. Some russeting may occur. Excellent flavor, improves in storage. Extra long keeping winter apple.
Tree Characteristics: Tree is hardy, vigorous, long-lived, productive annually, and bears young.

Priam
Parentage / Origin: PRI 14-126 x Jonathan; PRI (Purdue, Rutgers, Indiana Co Op, but introduced in France, 1974.
Harvest / Season: Harvest: One week before Delicious
Description: Medium range red over green-yellow. Keeps well through January.
Tree Characteristics: Medium vigor. Spreading, open. Terminal bearer. Very productive. Priam was the third release from the PRI Co Op.

Harvest / Season:
Description: Medium to large fruit with dark red blush over yellow. Juicy white flesh with mild subacid flavor.
Tree Characteristics: Disease-resistant variety which is immune to scab and resistant to fire blight, cedar apple rust and mildew.

Description: Highly regarded early American summer eating apple. Medium-large, smooth, light green fruit, crisp, juicy, tart.
Tree Characteristics: Hardy tree bears heavily.

Princess
Parentage / Origin: NJ75 x DIR101T117; PRI (Purdue, Rutgers, Illinois Co Op)
Harvest / Season: Harvest: Early September
Description: Medium size. Round to oblate round. Yellow to whitish pale yellow skin. Fine, crisp, breaking texture. Very spicy, very juicy, very aromatic. May develop off-flavor in storage.
Tree Characteristics: Moderately vigorous. Upright growth habit. Immune to scab. Resistant to fireblight, cedar rust, and mildew. Susceptible to frog-eye leaf spot.

Harvest / Season:
Description: Medium in size. 65% red blush over yellow background. Crisp, coarse, mildly subacid. White to slightly greenish flesh. Good flavor and quality. Will store for three months. Fruit hangs well.
Tree Characteristics: Immune to scab, resistant to blight, mildew and rust.

Description: Beautiful lemon-yellow apple with a perfect finish. This high quality apple is very productive and is a good keeper for an early apple.

Pumpkin Sweet
Parentage / Origin: Connecticut, 1834

Description: Prized for baking, good for canning or eating. Yellow skin marbled with greenish-yellow and a brown flush. Sweet, nonacid flesh is crisp and juicy.
