Swaar
(Also known as: Hardwick)
Parentage / Origin: New York, pre 1770
Harvest / Season: Harvest: October, Season: October - March
Description: Large, dull yellow fruit with russet dots of uncommon flavor and richness; spicy and aromatic. The creamy white flesh is firm textured with a sweet and aromatic flavor and the flavor will improve with storage.It will soften and mellow somewhat like a pear until slightly soft at which time it has velvety, tender and beautifully balanced flesh.
Tree Characteristics: Good in home orchards.

Swayzie
Parentage / Origin: Pomme Gris type; New York, 1872.
Harvest / Season: Harvest: October, Season: November - March
Description: Golden yellow sprinkled with russet spots and streaks with cinnamon russet becoming solid at base. Rich, distinctive flavor; aromatic and sprightly. Excellent eating apple.
Tree Characteristics: Tree vigorous, upright, moderately productive.

Sweet Alford
Parentage / Origin: England.
Harvest / Season: Harvest: October - November
Description: Fruit small-medium, pale yellow blushed pink. Sweet, juicy flesh. High quality.
Tree Characteristics: Tree moderately vigorous, spreading.

Sweet Bough
Parentage / Origin: 1817.00
Harvest / Season: Harvest: late August - September
Description: Medium-large green apple. Juicy, tender flesh, honeyed sweetness.
Tree Characteristics: Tree is disease hardy, a heavy bearer.

Sweet Delicious
Parentage / Origin: Deacon Jones x Delicious; New York. Introduced in 1911
Harvest / Season: Ripens late.
Description: Large, greenish yellow fruit, flushed reddish-orange with red streaks. Firm, fine, creamy white, melting flesh. Very sweet with an aromatic flavor. Excellent keeper.
Tree Characteristics: Medium-large tree.

Sweet Sixteen
Parentage / Origin: Northern Spy x Malinda; Minnesota, 1973.
Harvest / Season: Harvest: September - October, Season: stores well
Description: Large, red striped fruit.Firm, crisp, aromatic flesh. Moderately acidic.
Tree Characteristics: Resistant to scab and fire blight. Early annual bearing, hardy and vigorous tree.

Sweet Winesap
(Also known as: Sweet Pearmain, Ladies Sweet,)
Parentage / Origin: Not a sport of Winesap
Harvest / Season: Season: November to April.
Description: An attractive red winter apple, symmetrical, uniform, medium to large size. It is excellent in quality for dessert or for baking or other culinary uses. Skin tough, smooth, pale yellow or greenish nearly overspread with bright light red with carmine stripes. Flesh nearly white, firm, rather fine, moderately crisp, tender, juicy, distinctly sweet, good to very good.
